Why 9 months gap after 2nd dose for precaution dose

'Precautionary dose' is only applicable after 9 months of 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine mow Govt is saying.

This is such a hopeless situation. It means those who got 2nd dose in late april or may (senior citizens or co
Morbid) they will not be able to get it till february and 2nd wave peak is said to be february.

So what will this booster dose help
Against? Who will it help. Just the health worker may be that too a big may be.

Pleaae clarfiy and is this being done because of lack of doses or because its unsafe to 3rd dose till 9 months post 2nd dose are past more

Even in the cases of other vaccines, the booster dose is administered after a specified period of time to make it effective. Why are you putting a question for Covid booster dose? Do you have any valid reasons to doubt the intention of the government or only because of the freedom of expression we got by virtue of our Constitution? more
In Australia, booster dose is given 4 months after the second dose. more
Time gap between doses of vaccine is based on various factors and the impact of the previous dose across the globe and various research and study of the mutation of the virus. So it is an evolving one. Change is constant and we have noticed/experienced in numerous fields making the earlier findings futile. But that does not mean undermining the research. WHO announcements from time to time are also decided on the same line. So let's leave this to the medical fraternity of the country and the government. India has gone way ahead in the vaccination drive compared to any other nations in the universe. For an example, well developed countries have not been able to give an impetus on vaccination, but have endorsed booster shots. Reckoning the population of our nation, we have done marvelous job and certainly be proud. May be, our nation lags behind, but better late than never. So let's not blame the government and ensure enhanced awareness in this respect. So we will go with the booster shots as announced by the government without much debate. more
dear madam have you taken both the doses.Govt goes by WHO recommeded guidelines so it is better to adhere to the same . more
