Why impose GST on hospital rooms

At a time when hospitalisations are due to rise as people cope with long covid and other covid induced ailments and the pandemic continues, what sense does it make for the Government to tax hospital rooms.

Is this a luxury - Heck no.

And you do this because you cant increase taxes on online gaming crypto currency and casinos. Is that because many netas have their children in these activities or because the lobbyists of this industry pay some politicians a hefty sum.

As such Operation Expenses are very high. Over and above Govt must not levy extra charges. more
Is there any relatonship between indiscrete Taxation and Brute strength in Parliament ? Where is the Rationale in taxing the already distressed sick family? We have been hearing in this Forum how some hospitals themselves wait like hawks to Jack the Bills. WHY RUB SALT TO THE WOUND ? more
Certain items which are imposed with GST is ridiculous.eg. Hosptal rooms blow 5000/-perday , pencil, rubber, note books etc which are very trivial for Govt but very costly for poor should be scrapped at once. A review of latest imposition of GST should be reviewed and reduced. more
Instead of slapping GST on hospital rooms, the government needs to use taxpayer's money for improving healthcare. A huge part of this collected tax is wasted on subsidies to win votes with no accountability to tax payers! more
Yes, get your act together GST council and have some compassion for the lower and middle folks in the country. more
