Why not lockdowns and restrictions ?

Daily COVID cases in India yesterday rose 36% to 22,775 cases on Friday as against 16,764 cases reported on Thursday. Cases of Omicron variant in India increased to 1,431 from 1,270 cases reported thursday. About 406 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

Why are we not going for national state or district lockdown?

I have a strong feeling that the country is being misled by vested interest into believing this MILD theory and in 2 months we will end up causing unimaginable disruption to society and life. more

We have learnt from the recent past that nationwide lockdown is not a solution to save people from the infection. On the contrary, it ruins the economy of a nation and take away employment of millions of people. The respective State governments are initiating necessary actions to keep surging of the infection at the minimum. No nation can survive by remaining locked down for several years. We have now only one option to learn to live along with the Covid. more
To answer your question, because people have suffered - poor who need daily earnings, all the more, during last lockdown! Nobody, if still they advocate such directives, can imagine how! We are a democracy so anyone, please feel free to yourself go into a lockdown. Or are you a scientist? Vested interest could also be in spreading paranoia. This is just high handedness in asking this on local circles platform, suggesting with clever word usage, that one has all the wisdom. Respect others needs and requirements too. Poor people who need work have a requirement as do all requiring their services. more
Yes. Shut down for 15 days is essential. more
Lockdown apart there also is an escapist tendency towards adhoc cancellations. The case here being of school completion examinations last year having been cancelled. Cancel culture mentality has caused the situation to reach this stage where now students need admissions into colleges but on what basis do they get admitted other than their marks from examination which stood cancelled! Students prepare all out only to see their efforts meet with exam cancellation. Cannot afford another one of those imposed shutdowns. More sense in maintaining distancing protocols and COVID appropriate behaviour. more
The numbers mentined are not even 0.00001 per cent of the Indian population. So what the mess? more
